Well, I’m off to a slow start for posting in 2010, go figure. Luckily, I just ran across this incredible video of the San Diego Chargers’ future Hall of Fame running back LaDanian Tomlinson in an awful 80’s style music video. It has all the classics of a sports music video: stiff dancing, awkwardly placed lyrics to go to the beat, terrible blue (or green) screening, and plenty of football puns!
I think he says it best with this quote from the song: “Not a very good call.” Enjoy.
That’s right, that title can mean only one thing: It’s Terrible Tuesday! Today’s is a real gem. This video comes to us from Sarah Brightman’s past. Now, I think she has a great voice, and really enjoy some of her work from the past 10 years. This, however, must be from the 80s.
Some features are big (and not quite up-to-fashion) hair, sparkly spandex, space-age suspenders on hairy chests, and white people trying to move like robots! The song is very Abba-ish. I think Sarah must have been exploring some options of where to go with her career. I’m glad she abandoned this one, but at the same time, very happy she tried this out. Enjoy!
It’s Tuesday, and you know what that means. Something wonderful is about to happen. This comes to us from Lollapalooza 2009. What we have here is a dancing wizard showing his understudy exactly how it is done. He wins, and we all are better people for watching it. I’ve actually put this in both the Terrible Tuesday and Terrific Tuesday categories. I think you’ll see why. Enjoy!
There are a bunch of videos out there with this theme, and I suppose I’ll share more from time to time. The first time my friend, Ben, showed me the Clapton video I about wet my pants from laughing so hard. I’ve found, however, that not everybody finds the humor in the videos. So if you don’t think it’s funny, well then that’s just too bad.
First off we bring to you Eric Clapton, one of the greatest guitar players of all time. Enjoy the new mix of his live performance!
Awesome? Yeah. Now we’ve got one that may actually sound better than the audio that was really being produced by the band. This one features Creed. Oh man, just typing the name of the band made me feel all dirty inside. Enjoy!
For today’s Terrible Tuesday, I bring you Yatta! Such a happy, very strange video. I did a little research on this awesomeness. Turns out it was done as a humorous song by a comedy group, but actually reached #6 on the Japanese charts. Another good point the wiki brings up is that the music is based on Pachelbel’s Canon in D. Neat!
Here is a group of some videos on YouTube that are have quite a few views, and are just random awesome musical goodness.
First is Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy being played on a theremin. Theremins are pretty cool. You control the pitch and volume of it by moving your hand toward and away from the two metal rods.
Next is this little tune called Ievan Polkka. I really don’t know much about it, but the quartet performing it is called Loituma. The song is Finnish and they are Finnish as well. Beware, this will be in your head all day!
Next on the list is this neat little Cadbury chocolate commercial. So very random, love the eyebrows and the balloon solo at the end.
Finally, it’s time for some abounding excitement! At Space Camp all kind of awesome happened! Brent Simon rocks the synthesizer on this one expressing his good memories of Space Camp. It’s even got subtitles to help you memorize the song, sweet.
I was just going through my massive Unorganized music folder and happened upon a couple of Kompressor albums. Kompressor is a dude from Ohio who makes fantastic German electronica style music. It’s quite entertaining, mostly. Enjoy the video called You Have to Synthesize.
