Literal Translation of Music Videos

I’ve gotta say, today’s Terrific Tuesday is another brilliant installment. Some great classic music videos have been dubbed over by people who have changed the lyrics. Instead of the original song lyrics, the video is being described in the song. It’s genius! And not only have the words been changed, but they sing the new lyrics like the original singer and rock just as much. It’s wit at its finest!

So enjoy three great 80’s videos, starting with one of the greatest videos of all time, Take On Me.

Aha – Take On Me

Bonnie Tyler – Total Eclipse of the Heart

Michael Jackson – Billie Jean

Safety Dance

Well, I don’t have anything super awesome today, so I’m falling back on a golden oldie. I’ve become aware that there are a lot of people who don’t actually know how to do the Safety Dance. So, I feel I’m doing a public service by bringing this video to your attention. I think for a proper Safety Dance, you need a midget and a maypole. Enjoy.

Pet Shop Boys

Lately I’ve been pretty into the Pet Shop Boys. Neil Tennant’s voice is so soothing and 80’s-esque. They’ve continued to make music, which I hadn’t known about until just last year. I’m still discovering things that aren’t so new from them, but that are new to me. Apparently, they’ve got a new album due out March 23 called Yes. I’m pretty excited about that.

Here are a couple videos, since I’ve been real into posting music videos lately, for your enjoyment. The first is Flamboyant. The video has great Asian entertainment videos in it. I love the performing style of re-creating different activities. The way they do the slow motion and camera angle changes is brilliant! So enjoy it, along with the song:

Next is a song I just discovered through Pandora this morning on my Goodbye station on Pandora. The song is appropriately titled We’re The Pet Shop Boys. It’s apparently Robbie Williams with The Pet Shop Boys. They slip a little chorus line from an older song you may recognize in there. It’s another great soothing not-quite-80’s sounding song. Love it!
